I am Stephanie THE Massage Therapist, and this is why you need me!

You rely on your body to be able to do the things you do.

Be it work, play, shop, sleep, eat and countless more ‘things’, you want to be able to do the things you want to do.

I hear you! I agree with you! Your body needs to be able to do for you what you want it do. You do not have to be captive to aches, pains, tension headaches, twinges or various other afflictions.

Massage can help that. Massage can make you feel different now.

You say, “Those are some pretty big claims”.

Yes, they are, and you know what? Massage does help and does make you feel different NOW.

Here’s what you can expect when you receive a massage from Stephanie, THE Massage Therapist.

    • YOU will have the time you need to tell me personally about the pain, discomfort, ache or injury which you want to focus on for YOUR massage.
    • I will bring to the table skills mastered over 10+ years of massage practice.
    • I will skillfully apply the knowledge and training I have received as a Physical Therapy student, as a student of Swedish massage and from additional training areas of Cancer Massage, Medial Massage, Athletic Massage and Pregnancy Massage.
    • After your massage you can expect to feel energized and excited to go about doing the things you want to do, to do the things you enjoy doing.

My goal for each massage is for YOU to experience relief and freedom from your physical pain(s). Partner with me, share with me the pains and discomforts you are experiencing and you will know that massage helps can make you feel different NOW. That indeed Massage Stops the Pain.

An excuse to book a massage

Massage is well accepted as a therapy for relieving muscle tension and pain,  Massage is promising for muscle recovery: McMaster researchers find 10 minutes of massage reduces inflammation

Massage holds the potential to help not just bone-weary athletes but those with inflammation-related chronic conditions, such as arthritis or Fibro-Myalgia.

Hamilton, Ont. February 01, 2012Researchers at McMaster University have discovered a brief 10-minutes of massage helps reduce inflammation in muscle.

“We have shown the muscle senses that it is being stretched and this appears to reduce the cells’ inflammatory response,” he said. “As a consequence, massage may be beneficial for recovery from injury.” says Justin Crane, a doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster.

Crane admits being surprised that just 10 minutes of massage had such a profound effect. “I didn’t think that little bit of massage could produce that remarkable of a change, especially since the exercise was so robust. Seventy minutes of exercise compared to 10 of massage, it is clearly potent.”

    Without action, knowledge is wasted.

    • Schedule NOWclick here for the next available massage.
    • Try a 15-min massage –experience for yourself the benefits of this study, without a large time commitment or financial investment.
    • ACT NOW so you can get the massage you need and the time you want.

update on Massage Envy Back Bay, Boston, MA

One of the OWNERS spoke with me this morning. As an owner he had way more passion for serving the customer, than did the unattended staff last night.

We talked on the phone briefly and he offered me a massage this morning at 11am, and after the massage we spent some time talking.

Walking into the Massage Envy was a totally different experience by the light of day.  The front desk individual, greeted me, and another employee who was behind the desk, was struck by my hair and mentioned she liked it.

I was way more impressed by the therapist I saw today.  I was greeted in the lobby when it was time for my appointment.  I was given verbal cues and directions where the room was.  The therapist sat and listened to my concerns and clarified with me what it was I was wanting to be massaged.

I am happy with the massage I got today. I am happy with the customer experience I got today. I better understand Austin and his business today, and am struck by his humility to listen to customers, and take the time for customers to share their concerns so that he can appropriately deal with the issues brought to light.

Customer Service is the largest component of my experience last night.  If the individuals I was talking with last night had done even as little as [name] the manager will give you a call in the morning, if you use this piece of paper to write down your complaint [name] will get it and will be calling you in the morning.

Ending with a sense that I was being heard would have left me in a different frame of mind and I would not have spoken so rashly last night with my postings and such.

To the issue of the UNSANITARY, it seems that the warmer they place items into has a UV light which kills germs – I did not know that, how was I to know that?  As a customer I saw what I saw.  After talking with Austin today, I suggested even the smallest step of an individual cloth cover for the neck warmer will give another impression to the customer, and its small things that make a difference.

DO NOT follow up going to this Massage Envy to see if they have started to use individual cloth covers.  If they do not they do not, the practices they have a USP and within HEALTH CODE.

Do go to the Massage Envy in the Back Bay area of Boston. Expect that if you should have a negative experience, you will be listened to my management, and that your voice matters, and is valued.

Massage Envy Boston Back Bay 211 Berkeley UNSANITARY

Why reinvent the wheel – it has all been said – I could add details of my own experience which would add to the negativity below, so let’s stay concrete – UNSANITARY – they handed me a neck warmer when I arrived, it was taken out of the warming unit, it DID NOT have a cover over it, it WAS NOT put into a cover – after had returned it to the staff, I SAW WITH MY VERY EYES, the used neck warmer be put back into the warming unit – UNSANITARY – how many other peoples germs ended up on me:????

I went to this new location recently. I was excited they put one in Boston, but when i walked in i was very dissapointed. First the “clinic admin” is very unprosessional, doesnt wear a uniform and has an attitude right off the start. I just got a very unprofessional vibe from the whole experience..
    2/3/2011
Unfortunately, the front desk staff is not the best and brightest.
    2/28/2011
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Their front desk agents are rude and not very professional.
    3/17/2011
This was my second time here. The treatments were good and very satisfactory for what you pay. My only complaint was in relation to the front desk staff. On both occasions I found them to be incredibly unprofessional and rude. The most recent visit I dealt mainly with Danielle. She was so ignorant toward my friend and I – rolling her eyes at one point. This is a place where you are meant to de-stress and relax, unfortunately  the reception staff certainly does not allow for this.
    3/18/2011
I can honestly say that I walked out of there feeling worse than when I came in because I was disappointed in the lack of quality that I expect from massage envy. I shouldve just asked for my money back, but instead, I decided to share my experiences with everyone on here.
    4/8/2011
The front desk personnel, however, are not very professional or friendly.  They seem checked out and more interested in surfing their phone or Internet (while chomping on gum) then engaging with customers…
    4/15/2011
My room was not ready when I was taken to the back,
All in all, not a relaxing experience.
    6/2/2011
I got attitude the minute I walked through the door,  the room wasnt ready
    7/8/2011
THE MOST LOW LIFE UNPROFESSIONAL FRONT DESK STAFF I HAVE EVER SEEN!! I don’t even know where to begin, but my complaints are similar Joanna”s below. It is a shame for the therapists who work for massage envy to be on the receiving end of such bad representation. First impressions are everything!!!
    10/7/2011
I did some research and found out that ME has a lot of complaints about unfair and questionable  business practices!
    3/6/2011
This place is definitely rough around the edges.   The front desk people were pretty unprofessional,
